A sports environment which perfectly reflects the dynamic image of this American sports brand.
assume-xml-procins:no Project developer Multi Vastgoed built a people and environment-friendly head office as an integrated part of the Masterplan ArenaPark. The objective of this plan is to develop offices with a high-quality architecture against the backdrop of a park-like landscape.
The major source of inspiration for the architecture is the work of Dudok. This architect built the monumental "Dudok tribune" in the former sports park as well as the local government offices in Hilversum. For the latter, Dudok developed, in collaboration with CRH Kleiwaren Beheer, a special brick with the dimensions 240 x 90 x 40 cm, better known as the Dudok brick.

CRH has now given this characteristic format the name Hilversum format. When the architect of the Nike Europe head office, William McDonough, saw the local government offices in Hilversum, he choose to use exactly the same brick in the same colour: the bright yellow extruded brick in the Hilversum format. "This brick was the architect's deliberate choice. He investigated the architecture of Hilversum and soon thereafter the bricks were being produced", Ebbe van Wijngaarden, Technical Director of Multi Vastgoed, explains.

The elongated bricks of CRH Kleiwaren factory Joosten Kessel form the horizontal interplay of lines in the façades. This accentuates the horizontal section of the Nike complex. The 5 buildings form an architectural unit, positioned symmetrically, attractively and majestically alongside the main axis of the former athletics track.

The joint surface area of the 5 offices is 35,000 m2 plus an underground car park for 300 vehicles. It was decided to impose a construction height limit and sufficient space was left between the buildings to retain Hilversum's 'green' image.
