The history of brick production dates back to 1911 in Kessel. Joosten Kessel consequently has the longest heritage of all the CRH factories. A legacy distinguished by innovation and originality. The extruded wire cut bricks are produced, using a state-of-the-art production and control technology. The annual production of extruded wire cut bricks amounts to 35 million units. The soft mud facing bricks are produced at a separate production line with a production capacity of 16 million units. Characteristic for the soft mud bricks is the rough texture to give a natural hand-crafted look. The products of Joosten Kessel are characterized by their wide spectrum of colours. Specialized areas such as reduced firing and engobing (spraying a clay substance on extruded bricks) open up added original options for architects. In addition to facing bricks in a wide range of formats, Joosten Kessel also manufactures high-quality and aesthetically attractive clay pavers.
